Harbour is a digital only safe for work project with a NSFW side zine. All funds will be donated to charity.

FAQ

What is a zine?
A fanzine is an unofficial publication that can be digital and/or physical. It is often a collection of fanarts, fanfictions and merch items.

What is the theme of the zine?
There is no specific theme. We aim to celebrate the ship in every form, from fluff to character death, canon to AUs!

Will there be spoilers for the manga?
It’ll depend on the contributors ideas! We will allow events up to the most recent chapter to be featured in the zine.

How many contributors will be accepted?
We plan to accept around 20-25 artists and 3-5 writers. These numbers are subject to change depending on contributor applications.

Can I apply as both artist and writer?
Yes you can, but you may only be accepted for one position.

How will contributors be compensated?
This is a digital only charity zine, therefore contributors will only be compensated with a copy of the PDF zine and digital merchs.

Participant requirements

  • Applicants must be 18+ by the time contributor apps close (June 27th).

  • Participants are required to have a Discord account.

  • Once accepted, contributors will be asked to provide 3 pitches for their zine piece. Mods will approve pitches to ensure variety in the works.

  • Artists are expected to create at least one artwork. They can be assigned multiple pieces depending on their interests.

  • Writers are expected to create one fic with a word count of 1.8k to 2.5k.

  • All contributors can make extra content for the NSFW side zine if they wish to but their main zine assignment takes priority. The side zine’s minimum requirements for artists is a sketch, and a drabble for writers.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES

ALL
> Please make sure all links are accessible! We won’t be contacting you if they’re not. (TIPS: Open the links in your browser’s incognito mode!)

> All applicants need to submit 3 samples and a portfolio.

> Samples are meant to be your best pieces and should be representative of the style you wish you use for the zine.

> Portfolio can be a Google Drive, an Instagram feed, an AO3 profile, a Twitter moment, etc. Anything that showcases your work without having us navigate between personal posts is fine! It should contain more works than the three sample pieces.

> You may submit both SFW and NSFW pieces as samples and include them in your portfolio.

> A Koito/Tsukishima or Golden Kamuy sample is not required but appreciated!

WRITERS
> The word count for each sample should be between 1.5k and 3k words. They can be an individual chapter or an excerpt of a longer fic. However at least one should be a complete standalone work.

> We are looking for a solid grammar, punctuation and spelling, good characterizations and narratives.

ARTISTS
> At least one sample should feature a detailed background (solid colors or simple graphic shapes do not count).

> If interested in making merch items, chibis and merch designs are appreciated!

> Traditional artwork is accepted as long as they are scanned in good quality.

> We will evaluate the anatomy and proportions, the use of colors and light, backgrounds, the ability to represent two characters interacting and the overall atmosphere of the piece.
